That time of year is back again!! The Project: Art Group Exhibition is always an exciting event, featuring the talented and loyal students of Ewa Stryjik. The formats of the paintings will be larger this year; nevertheless, the Small Paintings $50 dollar Charity Wall will be up again! You might find some little gems here?
<< Opening Reception: Thursday, December 12, from 6 to 9 pm >>

I will be showing this semi-abstract still life done several years ago about which I had never felt quite satisfied, and always felt “something” to have been missing. Last week I took courage, mixed up some interesting blues from pthalo blue and applied a new background color. I also popped a few highlights into the fruits and flowers and added a few grounding shadows. It feels like a whole new painting!! And now, I’m happy with it! It feels resolved!

Liz Russ is showing this very interesting painting of a psychologically haunting, clown-like being, who is beckoning the onlooker. This image is the final result of a series of evolutionary steps which provided a different incarnation from its totally abstract starting point.
There are up to 30 to 40 artists showing in this group. When the painting are hung, I’ll post more pictures of the whole group’s offerings.
Meantime, think about coming to the Opening Reception, 230 Queen St West at McCaul, upstairs from the El Mundo Gift Shop. Always lively!
Open Friday – Sunday 1 – 6, Dec 13, 14, & 15
