#19 It’s Square Foot Show Time again!

The Square Foot show, one of Toronto’s favorite art shows is back for its 10th year! This is a traditional August happening now. Hundreds of small paintings, all 12 in x 12 in, are packed in together for a total sensory overload!! People line up on Ossington Street to get into the AWOL Gallery and then head off to Libretto for the city’s best pizza! All paintings are sold for $250.00 each, with 1/2 given to the artist. It’s worth having a look. Sometimes there are absolute gems.

This year I’m offering two paintings: The “Orchids Take New York City” is a preliminary sketch for an idea I had about juxtaposing nature’s compelling will to survive against the dead,  cold concrete of the city. The BMFA Girl is already described in Post #16.  We’ll see if these paintings attract any attention!

“Orchids Take New York City”, acrylic and ink
BMFA Girl #2, acrylic, phototransfer and graphite

I’ve recently returned from 10 days in Paris! If you’d like to receive the next installments about Picasso, you might like to become one of my subscribers to this blog. Just sign up on the side bar and help me rise above “Pat Leary: the used car dealer” in Google! priority listing! Many Thanks!
