Project: Art -The Party!! 2013

Sooooo-o-o cold in Toronto, Stewie Griffin could have seen his breath while exhaling his imaginary cigarette!!

Still, at -12°C , the artists and fans of the annual Project: Art December Exhibition did not disappoint! Our erstwhile somewhat grungy studio/work space was once again magically transformed into a funky Queen West gallery space, by Ewa Stryjnik and her loyal volunteers. Ewa is the founder and driving force behind Project: Art!  … I overheard Kerry Kim extolling her virtues as a painter, teacher, and curator, who provides such a stimulating environment to adult painters in this city! See picture gallery below:

Toronto photographer, Patrick Jubé, provided some of the great images below.

( I’ll take this opportunity to sign off this blog for 2013! My family and I are still some of the remaining 50,000 people without electrical power in Toronto since December 22nd. We lived with Lizzie and Bill for 3 days, now we’re sheltered at Mort and Joanna’s while they’re at their cottage on Lake Simcoe. The gifts are still waiting to be wrapped back in our freezing home. Last night we were the only guests at the chef’s table of a Toronto boutique hotel kitchen! Nothing is as expected. … I hope all people have found food, shelter, warmth and a place to charge their cell phones! Happy and Peaceful 2014!!)
